Paper cut Art
The artist, Erica Regelin, re-imagines waste paper by ‘painting’ the backgrounds for her original paper cut designs with colorful strips of disposable pop culture. Discarded magazines are collected from the neighborhood and friends, handcut into strips which are then carefully combined to create the overall color and pattern to best set off the silhouettes. The paper cuts are designed and cut from acid free paper. Each piece is finished with a signed mat framed and unframed. Each piece is one of a kind so backgrounds, frames and mats will vary. Backgrounds are made from the original magazine page strips and are not copied or reprinted so each background is unique. Colors and patterns will vary.
